Waterford Parish Project

St. Bernadette Parish is one of the youngest and smallest parishes in the city of Bulawayo.

It was founded in 1991 by a tiny group that started to meet in their homes for praise and worship. The Marianhill Missionaries came to their aid by inviting them to celebrate the Eucharist in their formation house. Gradually the tiny group grew and went through the hands of many priests.

In 2012, when we were celebrating 25 years of our presence in Zimbabwe, St. Bernadette Parish was given to our care.

From that time the parish has managed to build their own church, drill a borehole, and develop a small garden. The group of believers continues to grow in number and faith.
